Advanced Search Tips

To enter your own search, just type in a few descriptive words and click on the search button for a list of relevant resources. As Pure Insight only returns resources that contain all the words in your search, it is really easy to refine your search by adding more.

Choosing Keywords

For the best results, it's important to choose your keywords wisely. Keep these tips in mind:

The Pure Insight search engine can help you find relevant documents and articles quickly. The search engine uses standard Boolean logic; therefore, the way that you phrase your search can make all the difference in finding the information you want quickly. For example, if you are interested in the topic of IP Management, you can structure your search in a variety of ways and get vastly different results.

If you search simply on IP Management, the search engine will return documents that contain IP and Management. This may produce many more results than you care to look at. However, if you use quotation marks around your search terms as in "IP Management", the search engine will return only the records that contain the term IP Management. If you searched on IP OR Management, the search engine would return documents that contain either of the terms IP and Management.

You may also perform Negative searches by using the word NOT between search terms. For example, if you search on ip NOT management this will retrieve all records containing the keyword "ip" but not the keyword "management."

Finally, you can perform Compound searches. For example, you can search on "ip AND management NOT product." This will retrieve any records containing both keywords "ip" and "management" but will exclude any records that contain the word "product."
